The hydrocarbon code distinguishes two forms of contract to conclude with oil companies in order to allow them to be granted the reconnaissance license or the exploration permit: the Reconnaissance Contract and the Petroleum Agreement.

The interested company agrees with ONHYM on the delimitation of the area of interest and negotiates the terms of the Reconnaissance Contract or the Petroleum Agreement.
