ONAREP at the CCA Africa Oil & Gas Forum,

Houston November, 19 – 21, 2003  

Further to an invitation kindly sent by Mr. Stephen Hayes the president of Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) to Mrs. Amina BENKHADRA  the General Director of ONAREP to attend the CCA Africa Oil & Gas Forum held in Houston November 19 – 21, 2003, a delegation comprised of Mr. Haddou JABOUR, Exploration Division Manager and Mr. Mohamed El-ALJI Senior explorationist  attended the Forum.

 ONAREP delegation  presented a workshop entitled: Energy Sector and Oil & Gas Upstream Opportunities in Morocco.This workshop was aimed at providing US investors with an overview of the Energy Sector in Morocco and the Hydrocarbon upstream opportunities existing following recent revival of E&P activities in the region.

The first part of the presentation was devoted to highlight the importance of the Energy Sector in Morocco ’s economy and the energy policy key issues adopted in pursuing and managing solutions to the energy dilemma. The second part of the presentation addressed the Hydrocarbon exploration opportunities in Morocco and the key drivers that have revitalized E&P activities and brought the region as an increasingly important emerging energy hub.
